Dr Simon Crouch

Dr Simon Crouch is a public health doctor and researcher at the Jack Brockhoff Child Health and Wellbeing Program, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, the University of Melbourne. His research explores child health and wellbeing in non-traditional Australian families. His current PhD studies focus on the health and wellbeing of children with same-sex attracted parents.

He is currently leading the Australian Study of Child Health in Same-Sex Families (ACHESS).  He has previously worked on both health policies and health programs as a medical officer at the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Premier Denis Napthine wanted to see “proper” evidence before moving to legalise gay and lesbian adoption. The evidence is in, writes Simon Crouch, and it says many children thrive with same-sex parents.
