Dr. Vannessa Hearman

A graduate of the University of Melbourne, Dr Hearman is based in the School of Languages and Linguistics.   Her research is in the area of history, particularly dealing with activism, social movements and the Indonesian left. She completed her doctoral thesis on the 1965-68 anti-communist repression in East Java, Indonesia in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne, where she was awarded the University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship.  See her full profile here.
