Dr Glenn Savage is a Researcher and Lecturer in Education Policy in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on education policy and governance at national and global levels, with a specific interest in the changing nature of nation-states and publics in global contexts, and policies relating to curriculum, equity and marketisation. Glenn is currently working on three research projects. First is an 'Early Career Researcher Grant' funded by the University of Melbourne, for a project titled 'The national agenda: Exploring the re-scaling of curriculum governance'. Second is a project commissioned by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), titled 'Evaluation of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers'. Third is a project commissioned by the International Baccalaureate Organisation, titled 'IB Learner Profile: A comparative study of implementation, adaptation and outcomes in three countries'. As a PhD candidate in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (2008-2012), Glenn held the prestigious William & Kate Herschell Scholarship for his project titled 'Imagination, Governance, Community: Making Education, Making Difference'.
