LABOR AND the Coalition agree Australia must reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 5 per cent below 2000 levels by 2020.

 

But they disagree vehemently on how to achieve this target.

 

The Government is "axing" its own carbon tax in favour of a floating carbon price determined by an Emissions Trading Scheme, while the Opposition supports a more 'direct action' policy response.
