Damon Alexander completed his PhD in 2006 examining One Nation and the Australian Far Right. Damon has worked in the School of Social and Political Sciences since 1998 teaching Australian Politics and Public Policy and more recently as a Senior Research Fellow on a number of Australian Research Council funded projects. His research interests cover a broad range of areas including:

- Social network analysis applications in political science
- Elite level policy decision making
- Populism
